1. Who we are
GiftCasher ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at giftcasher.uk. Our address for correspondence is 78 Grange Rd, Bedford, MK44 3NS, United Kingdom, and you can reach us at support@giftcasher.uk.
These Terms form a contract between you and us. By using the platform you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.
We may change these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and you may close your account and withdraw your balance if you do not wish to accept it. Changes will not apply retrospectively to orders you have already submitted.
2. What the service is
GiftCasher buys gift cards and prepaid cards from you for cash. We are the buyer — we are not a marketplace, and you are not selling to another user. When we accept a card, we pay you a percentage of its face value, which is shown to you before you commit.
We may decline any card at our discretion, including cards we cannot verify, cards with a balance lower than stated, and cards we reasonably suspect were not lawfully obtained. We will tell you the reason.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You must be selling on your own behalf and not on behalf of a business unless we have agreed that with you in writing.
Keep your account credentials to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except where that activity results from our own failure.
4. Selling a card to us
When you submit a card, you confirm that:
- you own the card and have the right to sell it;
- you did not obtain it by fraud, theft, or any other unlawful means;
- it has not been redeemed, reported stolen, or offered for sale elsewhere;
- the code and details you give us are accurate.
Submitting a card is an offer to sell it to us. A contract is formed only when we complete verification and accept it. Verification usually takes up to 24 hours. While it is in progress, the estimated payout appears in your account as a pending balance. A pending balance is not yet money you own — it becomes yours only when we accept the card.
The smallest card we accept is 20 in the card's own currency (£20, €20 or $20).
5. What we pay you
The rate shown in the calculator when you submit is the rate we pay. We do not deduct a fee from it.
The one thing that can change the amount is the card's actual balance. If a card turns out to hold less than you declared, we pay the same rate on the balance that is genuinely there, and we tell you before crediting your account. If a card holds nothing, or fails verification, we pay nothing and release the pending amount.
Once we accept a card, the payout moves from your pending balance to your available balance, which is yours.
6. Currency
Your balances are held separately for each currency and are never converted between them. A £100 card pays into your GBP balance; a €100 card pays into your EUR balance.
When you withdraw, PayPal pays you in the currency of the balance you are withdrawing from. Cryptocurrency is the exception: USDT, ETH and BTC settle against the US dollar, so a GBP or EUR balance is converted to USD if you cash out that way. Before you confirm such a withdrawal we show you the exchange rate we will apply and the exact dollar amount you will receive, and we record both against your withdrawal.
Exchange rates move. The rate we show you is the rate we use for that request.
7. Withdrawals
You may withdraw your available balance at any time. The minimum withdrawal is 50 in the currency of the balance you are withdrawing from — £50, €50 or $50. Requests are normally processed within 24 hours.
We do not charge a withdrawal fee. Third parties may: PayPal and the cryptocurrency networks apply their own charges, over which we have no control.
It is your responsibility to give us the correct PayPal address or wallet address. Cryptocurrency sent to an address you have given us incorrectly cannot be recovered.
8. Things you must not do
You must not use GiftCasher to:
- sell stolen, fraudulently obtained, or counterfeit cards;
- launder money or handle the proceeds of crime;
- open multiple accounts to get around a limit or a ban;
- give us false or misleading information;
- use bots or scripts against the platform, or attempt to exploit it;
- abuse or threaten our staff.
If we reasonably suspect any of the above, we may suspend your account and hold any pending or available balance while we investigate. We will tell you that we have done so, and we will act within a reasonable time.
If an investigation shows that a balance came from cards that were stolen or fraudulently obtained, we will not pay it out, and we may report the matter to Action Fraud or the police. We will not withhold money that is lawfully yours.
9. Closing your account
You may close your account at any time. If you do, we will pay out any available balance you are entitled to, subject to the minimum withdrawal amount and to any investigation under clause 8.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, or if we are required to by law. Except where we reasonably suspect fraud or illegality, we will give you notice and an opportunity to withdraw your balance.
10. Our responsibility to you
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Beyond that, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss caused by a third-party payment provider or cryptocurrency network, or for business losses, since the service is provided for personal use.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer, which cannot be signed away.
11. Intellectual property
The content, branding and software on the platform belong to us or our licensors. Brand names and logos of gift card issuers belong to those issuers and are used only to identify the cards we buy; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent of any of them.
12. If something goes wrong
Please contact us first at support@giftcasher.uk — most problems are quicker to fix that way. We aim to acknowledge complaints within one working day and to resolve them within eight weeks.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country; otherwise the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms requires you to go to arbitration or prevents you from bringing a claim in court.
